The Human Resource Development Cell organised the Shri Ram Red Bricks Summit. We feel great honour to have Maharaja Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mewar of Udaipur, the youngest child of Shri Ji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur and Smt Vijayraj Kumari Mewar of Udaipur. His unwavering commitment to social causes and his dedication to the public has created awareness on several issues related to the rural and urban populace in the region. He has conducted various campaigns to create awareness in the field of education, health, environment and other social causes in order to improve the standard of living of local people.
So this was a Q/A round wherein students came up with the questions followed by his answers.
The very first question was to know his feeling to be born into a royal family, to which he replied that he felt honoured and privileged to be born in such a family and at the same time very proudly added that it’s a deal of fate to be born on earth but it's a great fortune to be born in India. He further added that any family one is born too, any land, any friend circle or one’s surrounding is a privilege and it depends on how one takes it forward. So it was quite overwhelming for him and challenging at the same time.
And when asked about the need to protect India’s heritage, he responded very firmly that everyone wants to preserve his identity and our identity is our India’s religions, customs, beliefs, values. Being an Indian it is one’s duty. As much as Maharana Pratap was his, he was of everybody else’s. It was not one’s responsibility. As much as our culture belongs to one individual, as much it belongs to the whole youth and rest of the nation and it's their duty to save their identity and to be proud of it.
Even while studying abroad and still returning to India, he was of the view that it’s a good thing if one goes to learn something abroad but not at the cost of forgetting one’s own culture, land, values, traditions, beliefs. Tomorrow if one chooses to forget or disregard one’s own culture then there’s nobody else to be blamed but the person himself and these are some conscious decisions one has to take by rational thinking. He was of the view that when he went abroad he was very proud of his identity and so should be everyone.
According to him the biggest advantage of studying abroad is that one learns how different nationalities live in integrity. It helps in knowing about World culture and gives one knowledge about the world. His views about college life is that one should explore different things in-depth, whatever one is doing it should be done thoroughly, explore all the possibilities, find out one’s interest area, what one’s comfortable in, talk to different people, talk to our field experts or look for the pieces of advice of the people you admire, the most important one is to be ready to fail.
His answer for how to multitask was to have the skill of managing time well which will help one to do multiple things at the same time and another is discipline, have faith and belief in the thing that you want to do. Be consistent and passionate. Choose those multitasks very thoroughly and wisely and analyse what one wants to do. Make a proper plan and allocate time accordingly. One formula that he applies in his life is GGGN-Greatest Good for Greater Number and make sure that it applies so that the work is measurable which means it should be either for the greatest good or a greater number of people.
